Freiburg and Europa-Park

5
June 2015

I flew into Basel Airport which is the gateway to France, Germany and Switzerland. I then transferred to Europa Park in Rust Germany which took around 45 minutes. Other airports for Europa- Park would be Strasbourg, Baden-Baden and Frankfurt. Europa Park is a large theme park which is great for all members of the family. Lots of activities to watch and participate in, jousting, rocknroll, magic shows, water rides, rollercoasters, all set in beautiful gardens. The hotels on site are themed, you can stay in a medieval castle Burghotel Castillo Alcazar, in a Spanish hotel Hotel El Andaluz, a serene monastery Santa Isabel,  the Italian Hotel Colosseo or the Cape Cod Hotel Bell Rock. There are also indian teepees in the camping area to stay in. They have a fantastic area of countries that you can visit similar to Epcot Centre in Florida where you can sample cuisine from the country, so you will be able to eat authentic greek food in Greece, sample Norwegian fare in Norway and ride the Wooden rollercoaster and check out the Scandinavian goodies that you can buy.

Freiburg is in the Black Forest and is a medieval town. Lots of cobbold streets and beautiful timbered houses. Heavily adorned municipal buildings like the Rathaus stand out. A great base for the Black Forest with easy to use public transport links to use to get around the area especially if you want a second centre with Europa-Park.
