Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

A truly outstanding experience awaits you on board what is arguably the most legendary train of all; the magnificently opulent Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

The original 1920s Pullman carriages have been lovingly and painstakingly restored to their former glory, taking travellers back in time to the to the luxury and glamour of the Golden Age of rail travel. Each carriage has its own story to tell and every detail has been considered, from the exquisite marquetry and upholstery in every one of the bijou cabins and communal areas; to the quality of the toiletries, dressing gowns, linens, china and intricate René Lalique glassware. Even a walk down the corridors is magical.

The dedication and attention to detail shown by the staff is nothing short of exceptional. Your Cabin Steward is on hand 24 hours a day with a warm smile, and a team of four or five chefs will prepare some of the highest quality food imaginable, made from the seasonal produce mostly indigenous to the regions the train will pass through on the journey. All the more remarkable, they will do so in an indescribably tiny galley kitchen. The day cars, along with its resident Pianist, will remain at your disposal until you choose to retire.

While you take your seats in one of the three beautiful and unique dining cars for your evening meal, your steward will transform your day cabin into cosy sleeping quarters, ready for you to settle in between your luxurious sheets and listen to the rhythmic “clickety-clack” of the vintage carriages as the train continues its voyage throughout the night.

When you awake, simply call for your Steward at a time of your choice and they will bring a mouth-watering array of freshly ground coffee, teas and pastries for you to sample. Before you complete the final leg of the journey between Paris and London by Eurostar.

Belmond have revealed eight stunning new suites available to book on board the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, meaning there are now three different ways to enjoy a journey on the most famous train of all time.

The new suites feature lower beds (double or twin) and private ensuite facilities, offering a more luxurious alternative to the existing entry-level Historic Twin Cabins and bridging the price gap to the highest category Grand Suites.  They will be available on journeys departing from June 2023 onwards, and are subject to availability. These cabins have been designed with the landscape in mind, taking inspiration from the forests, lakes, mountains and countryside of Europe to create a beautiful new intermediate offering.

In 2018, the Grand Suites were introduced (at a supplement), affording the highest level of comfort with full double beds, private dining and lounge area, full en-suite shower room, and free-flowing Champagne along with a host of other luxuries. Travel in-style at its very best!
