Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has dining to suit every taste for every meal of the day. The buffet breakfast offers everything from cereals and fruit to cooked options including; omelettes, kippers and pancakes. Or enjoy a continental breakfast in your cabin every morning. There is also a cabin service of light snacks throughout the day for if you get peckish.

Afternoon tea of finger sandwiches and cream scones, a great British tradition, can be enjoyed whilst a pianist plays along in the background in the Observatory Lounge.

Dinner offers five courses of delectable options all created to perfection. Fred. Olsen are able to cater for most dietary requirements and always offer vegetarian options and sugar free desserts. If you get peckish again later on in the evening or are late back from an evening excursion you can take advantage of the supper club with a hot and cold buffet until 11pm.

Lots of our guests like to use their sea days or longer voyages to try their hand at something they haven't done before, so we host sociable activities like learning to play the ukulele or singing in a choir. Or you can refine your crafting skills, practice your watercolours and learn some photography skills in our new Olsen Art Studio.

Hosted by our Sommeliers, Tasting Sessions* on board our smaller ships offer a fascinating insight into the production processes, scents and flavours of some of the world's finest tipples. The Tasting Sessions on your cruise could include opportunities to sample everything from delicious wines and Champagne to whiskey and a range of spirits, while occasionally our experts will also teach you the art of pairing food and drink to create combinations that perfectly blend the nuances of their flavour.

On our Itinerary Insights programme, our friendly speakers will give you a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the places we are visiting before we arrive. Our Nature Guides will help you spot marine and bird life out on deck as well as talking about local flora and fauna of your destinations.

Signature Experience: Scenic Discoveries

Rather than sailing the fastest routes, we prefer to sail the most fascinating way. That's why we plan Scenic Discoveries into our cruises. They are designed to take in all the islands, ports, waterways, lochs and lakes, fjords and interesting seascapes that are out there.

Signature Experience: Treats of the Region

Come and enjoy our Treats of the Region sessions where you can meet our chefs who will show you how to prepare local dishes from the destinations we are visting.

Signature Experience: The Sky at Sea

Our Sky at Sea experience is held  on our wide open decks where we host sunrise, sunset and star-gazing events. And on special itineraries we seek out the natural beauty of the Northern Lights, Midnight Sun and Solar Eclipse.

Proudly introducing our Journey Guides

Our new ‘Journey Guides’ are an innovation that comes from what is perhaps our most dearly held belief; “It’s all about the people”.

Unique to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and joining us on all cruises from 2023, they are here to entertain and inspire, with their insights and stories. They will host talks, presentations and private lunches, and are available to anyone who wishes to find out more about their journey. And please don't worry, if sitting and relaxing is what you are on the cruise to do, that's fine too.

Whether you want to relax and watch the world go by, or fill your day meeting fellow guests and taking in our entertainment programme, we have plenty of options for you to try.

Live music and entertainment is a very important part of life on board a Fred. Olsen ship. Our Entertainment Hosts and their team will bring you a wonderful live music programme in our bars and lounges featuring string quartets, flautists, classical guitarists, live bands and singers. You can also enjoy our evening shows in our elegant theatre, the Neptune Lounge.

We know many guests look forward to fun and games on board. Our Entertainment Hosts will organise traditional deck-game tournaments like quoits, skittles, deck tennis and shuffleboard. We love a good quiz and it is a great opportunity to be sociable and meet fellow guests.

The ships have swimming pools so you can enjoy a cooling dip in between sunbathing sessions. If you want to relax you can treat yourself to a spa treatment, an afternoon playing bridge, or enjoy a good book from the library. If you prefer something more active you can try out the golf nets or fitness centre, partake in a fitness class or get involved with one of the ships enrichment programmes.

Fred. Olsen promises top flight evening entertainment for your enjoyment; with cabaret, dancing, comedians and music. Each ship has a range of bars and lounges for you to relax in, each with a unique feel and style.

There’s nothing quite like an invigorating walk on your ship’s open deck, particularly when you can take in the fresh sea air and soak up the stunning scenery. On all our traditionally-built ships there’s a promenade deck; take a few laps and you’ll have walked a mile. Or you may choose to swim some lengths in one of the pools, with a rewarding jacuzzi after.

If you really want to get the blood pumping (and work off all those courses from dinner the night before) our Fitness Centres are equipped so you can run, row or lift weights – and it’s all complementary of course.

Across the fleet we run a variety of yoga, aerobics and Pilates classes in the Fitness Centre. These are suitable for everyone from beginners to regular gym-goers.

Pamper Yourself at the Atlantis Spa

Refresh the mind and revive the body in your ship’s haven of relaxation. The soothing surroundings of the Atlantis Spa is where you can really treat yourself.

Open daily from 8am to 8pm, our luxurious spas offer a wide range of beauty and relaxation treatments, including massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and hairdressing. Why not try a new style for your holiday? Or book a treatment so you’re all set for a formal evening or special occasion. A cruise is the perfect excuse to treat yourself.

Our Thermal Suite is a relaxation centre with the ambiance of a Turkish bath. Our steam rooms are filled with aromatherapy vapours which are the perfect way to unwind and de-stress while our heated ceramic relaxation beds are designed to match the curvature of your spine and melt away muscle tension.

Our mineral bath, heated to body temperature, gently embraces you with warmth to alleviate sore joints and sooth away your aches providing wonderful relief for tired muscles. This is an excellent experience for poor circulation and perfect after a long day exploring ashore. To book please visit The Atlantis Spa once on board.

Gratuities for our dedicated service team are not included in the cost of your holiday. While tipping is entirely at your discretion, we pride ourselves on the service offered to our guests, and are confident that you’ll wish to reward staff on board for the attention you receive.

Typically, gratuities are charged at £5.00 per person, per day for guests aged 12 and over. This amount is split equally between your stewardess and restaurant waiter, and will be automatically added to your on board account. While very much appreciated, these gratuities are voluntary, and therefore can be adjusted or removed completely at Guest Services on board the ship if you wish; and you are welcome to tip personally if you prefer.

For your convenience, you can also pre-pay gratuities before your cruise. We'll check with you at the time of booking if you’d like to pay prior to your cruise.
