With a distinct range of dining options and Holland America’s unique ‘As You Wish®’ attitude to eating on-board, there are so many amazing culinary experiences to be had. In a nutshell, As You Wish® allows you to dine as and when you like without having to book in advance if you don’t want to. You are free to dine in as many of the different restaurants as you like; choosing from different types of cuisine and between lighter and more formal options.
The main dining room on each ship will have various names, but they all are two-tiered and elegantly decorated; creating the perfect space in which to enjoy your meal. The highest quality linens, glassware and china help to add to an experience which is truly excellent from start to finish.
Other restaurants on board include the Pinnacle grill which lives up to its name by offering only the best dishes and exquisite service, the Canaletto Restaurant which gives guests the chance to taste some refined Italian cuisine, and the Lido Restaurant which is perfect for light lunches and meals set in a slightly more relaxed environment. Passengers sailing on board ms Eurodam and ms Nieuw Amsterdam can also sample some Asian delights in the sumptuous Tamarind Restaurant.
As well as these permanent dining areas, there will also be some more temporary options that come and go throughout your cruise. On specific night, the Pinnacle Grill will be transformed as the atmosphere and dishes from the world famous Le Cirque restaurants are welcomed on board. Holland America Line’s Master Chef Rudi Sodamin has worked closely with Craig Hopson, executive chef at Le Cirque, in order to offer this pop-up dining option.
Along with Le Cirque, the Pinnacle Grill is also turned into Michelin Star Chef Jonnie Boer’s Dutch restaurant, De Librije, for one night on every sailing. For an exclusive evening, guests will have the chance to experience ‘a taste of De Librige’ as they enjoy a five-course menu that starts with scallops and then gives you the option to choose the rest of your meal from a range of options. Finally, passengers on board ms Nieuw Amsterdam can also step into the Master Chef’s Room for a seven-course extravaganza created by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin.
