Altötting Christmas Market

Rich in tradition and considered to be one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in Germany, Altötting attracts hundreds of pilgrims each year with it's infamous “Black Madonna” statue located in the Chapel of Grace and its delightful Christmas manager scene - a tradition that has been kept alive for 400 years. Set against the backdrop of baroque buildings, hundreds of decorated stalls align the illuminated streets as the air fills with the aromas of festive treats. The market offers a varied selection of handmade and handicraft products and, an incredible choice of regional, culinary specialties.

You can experience a lovely series of carol concerts every Wednesday and Saturday during December, in the beautiful and festively decorated Basilica of St. Anne. Performed with traditional Alpine folk music, these concerts are a must see for all visitors to the Altötting Christmas market.
