Düsseldorf Christmas Market

The Düsseldorf Christmas Markets are some of the most atmospheric in Germany. Six different markets are located on picturesque squares and along romantically lit streets. The 250 glittering stalls invite visitors to a romantic fairyland, each telling a small winter tale of their own. On Marktplatz, metal artists, glass blowers and wood carvers present their craft to passers-by, whilst the stalls along Flinger Strasse are decorated in the style of the street's ancient town houses.

The Düsseldorf Christmas Market is an event full of excitement for all the family. The attractions include an outdoor ice rink and a funfair that provide visitors with the opportunity to burn off all of the cakes and mulled wine that have been consumed throughout the day.

The art-nouveau inspired 'Angel's market' at Heinrich-Heine-Platz boasts its own unique charm and a festive programme is staged at Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz which is popular with visitors. The decorated fir and spruce branches and the impressive winter landscape at the Christmas market are both wonderful festive highlights.
