Germany

Rüdesheim not only features the Drosselgasse - a narrow cobbled alley full of inns buzzing with the sound of revelry - but also a more sedate side, as a browse in the Museum of Musical Instruments will illustrate.

The remains of the 1,000-year-old Bromersburg castle bear witness to Rüdesheim's colourful history. Located on the banks of the Rhine, the town invites you to explore the Rhineland on your own or take one of the many day excursions available.

Don't miss out on a trip to the Asbach wine distillery, the birthplace of German brandy.
