Stuttgart is known as the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche yet it is much more than just a car city. One of the greenest cities in Europe, it also offers a number of first-rate art collections with the State Gallery being a special highlight for lovers of both art and architecture. If you are looking for some great shopping opportunities, go to Königstraße for well-known fashion chains; the area around the Stiftskirche for exclusive labels; or the Gerberviertel for individual boutiques. The city offers a rich cultural diversity, spectacular architecture, idyllic public parks, elegant shopping plazas and majestic palaces. For car enthusiasts, however, both automobile museums are not to be missed.

“S-Bahn”:
The journey time between Stuttgart main station and Stuttgart Airport is 30 minutes. During core hours, the S-Bahn trains run every 15 minutes from the main station, and every 30 minutes on weekends during off-peak hours. From the main station you can reach Breuninger in about 10 minutes on foot.
From the main station to the airport, a ticket for 2 tariff zones must be purchased.
Subway:
The U6 takes passengers from the main train station to the airport in about 30 minutes. The stop is opposite the terminal, which is a 5-minute walk away. The trains run every 10 minutes during core hours, and also every 10 minutes between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekends.

Take a journey through more than 125 years of fascinating automotive history - and on into the future. Covering an area of over 16,500 square metres on nine levels, the exhibition presents 160 vehicles and over 1,500 exhibits.
The Old State Gallery is one of Europe's most popular art museums and houses outstanding paintings from Gothic to Romantic.
The New State Gallery presents works of classic modernism, expressionism and contemporary art.
The 217-metre high television Tower was built in 1954-1956 and offers the most spectacular views of the city. Look out over the vineyard landscape of the Neckar Valley and the lush Black Forest.
The Gaststätte zum Paulaner is a traditional German beer house and very popular for locals and visitors. Order a popular Paulaner beer and traditional food such as sauerkraut and various kinds of sausages. There is also a terrace that is used during summer evenings.
The Alte Post is one of the oldest restaurants in Stuttgart. The traditional atmosphere is accompanied by gourmet food and is directly located on the market square.
The Fernsehturm Restaurant is situated at the top of the Stuttgart television tower. The menu is a mix of German and Italian cuisine.
Offers genuine Swabian cooking and is located in a house which is over 100 years old.
For people not on a budget, the Schlossgarten restaurant offers fine French cuisine as well as local specialities. Fine wines complement the excellent food.
The main shopping area, the Königsstrasse, presents a lot of designer stores like Valentino, Cartier and Boss. There are also several department stores, specialist outlets and cafes.
Hidden away in the old part of Stuttgart lies the Bohnenvirtel (Bean Quarter). This area has some of the most interesting wine taverns, international restaurants and countless tiny shops, offering products from all over the world.
Classic Rock Cafe: This bar plays classic rock music and offers a great food and drink menu.
Amadeus: This traditional bar has an intimate ambience created by the dark wood, low tables and comfy leather chairs.
Biergarten im Schloßgarten: Provides the essential German beer garden atmosphere in Stuttgart.
