Poland

Warsaw - Poland's fascinating capital! You will be truly enchanted by the history and atmosphere of this magnificent city, which combines the influences of Western and Eastern Europe, where tradition meets modernity. Take a stroll through Warsaw's charming Old Town and Royal Castle and you'd think the city had enjoyed a comfortable existence the past 200 years.

But at the end of World War II, almost the entire city lay in rubble and ruin. However, Varsovians picked themselves up and rebuilt almost everything, according to paintings, photographs and personal memories. The reconstruction is so good that it is now listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Warsaw's unquenchable energy doesn't just extend to construction, though. Its exquisite cultural events calendar offers a huge variety of productions all year round. The city buzzes with activity every night of the week and is famous for the sparkling nightlife, full of people who are ready to have fun, feel the music and dance.

Stroll through Warsaw's Royal Route to the Belvedere and admire numerous palaces, churches, galleries, art shops, cafes and other buildings of historic and artistic importance.

Visit the birthplace and a museum of famous scientist Maria Sklodowska-Curie, who has twice received the Nobel prize.

Old Town

As the historic centre and oldest part of the city, the old town is also a living, breathing cultural salon. Founded in the 13th century as the Prince's castle, it is surrounded by walls.

Museum Palace at Wilanów

One of the most precious monuments of Polish Baroque built for King Jan III Sobieski.

National Museum

Contains a rich collection of exhibits from antiquity to modern times. The building originates from the interwar period.
