The Blue Train is a more modern offering in comparison to Rovos Rail’s Pride of Africa (link) and travels between Pretoria and Cape Town on selected dates throughout the year. The train also travels one a year to South Africa’s Limpopo Province, where one of the world’s finest game reserves can be found - Kruger National Park, home to Africa’s Big Five.

Both Pretoria and Cape Town stations have dedicated pre-departure lounges, where you can sip a glass of champagne or a coffee and contemplate the exciting journey ahead of you!

Once on board, the train is tastefully and splendidly presented; all cabins feature lower beds with luxurious cotton linen, and marble-floored en-suite bath or shower rooms with gold-plated fittings. All have access to 24-hour steward service and feature a selection of mod-cons such as DVD players and air-conditioning. The cabins and public areas feature large panoramic windows to provide the perfect view of the passing scenery.

Dining is arranged in two sittings – all the sumptuous meals are prepared on board using the freshest seasonal produce ad accompanied by perfectly chosen wines. The atmosphere on the train is lively and friendly, and the on board team make sure you have a luxury experience to remember.
