In the western part of the municipality Almopia, sits Loutra Pozar, a picturesque village that’s famous for its hot springs and thermal waters that are said to help with the nervous system, dermatological issues and rheumatism. There are also plenty of outdoor activities on offer in and around this area including skiing, climbing, caving and trekking.
The Pozar Baths have both indoor and outdoor pools that allow you to experience a blend of cold weather, warm water and beautiful natural surroundings. The numerous baths have different temperatures that allow for alternate sessions and waterfalls are placed in certain pools to help with back and neck pain. Tourists who suffer from issues concerning their kidneys, liver and digestive system are advised to drink the natural spring water, as its properties are said to aid these ailments.
After your visit to the spa, you should take a stroll down to the Loutraki Gorge, along the designated path from The Pozar Baths that stretches for about 33km. The journey takes you through the first speleological park (focussed on the study of caves) in Greece and the Folklore Museum.
