Mondariz-Balneario is a spa town in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, in the north-west of Spain. This thermal region offers tourists the chance to relax in therapeutic waters and discover the area’s rich heritage, ranging from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.

Palacio Del Agua is a thermal spa within Mondariz which began in 1873 and has adapted its traditional ways to suit a 21st-century audience. The thermal water is rich in bicarbonate, said to be good at treating stomach problems like gout, anaemia, diabetes and various skin diseases. The Water Palace (the English translation of the spa’s name) has a Celta pool, a unique thermal circuit that was inspired by the ancient Celtic thermal culture.

Another thing to do while in Mondariz is to visit the Sobroso Castle that’s situated in the village of Vilasobroso. This medieval fortification hosts a different theme in each room to help teach tourists about its rich heritage and local traditions. You also get an amazing view of Galicia from the top of the tower.
