Situated within Tuscany, Montecatini Terme is one of the largest spa towns in Italy. It’s widely known for its thermal bath, Parco Delle Terme, where you can drink the water and experience treatments such as massages, mud baths and other types of beauty treatments.
Parco Delle Terme di Montecatini boasts wonderful architecture, showcasing an Art Nouveau style that adds to the peaceful and relaxing aura the thermal park radiates. As well as the pools, a vast garden is situated within the park and encourages tourists to walk around. One of the most popular activities to do here is to collect a free plastic cup and drink the mineral water, as it is said to have special healing properties. Musicians also play at certain times of the day for the guests.
Nearby is the Funicolare, a cable car which takes you up to Montecatini Alto and back. This cable car runs every 30 minutes and takes around 10 minutes. It’s a very gentle and relaxing trip up into the mountains that costs €7 per person.
