I am not good with boats so was apprehensive when offered this trip as I would not normally sail from the UK, if I went out in a boat it would be a day excursion while abroad. As this was a proper ship and not a small boat or ferry I thought I would give it a go and I have to say I really enjoyed the experience. The Braemar is not too big but it has a spacious feel, nicely decorated with comfortable lounges and bars. The cabins were a good size too plus the food was great and there is plenty of it should you choose to indulge. We did not book an excursion in Amsterdam we just walked around the city to get a feel for it with its many canals and sights. I wish I had taken a tour on a canal boat; perhaps I will go back and do that sometime.

I would recommend a mini cruise to anyone who has never been before as this is a great introduction to cruising.
