Vietnam & Cambodia – A River Cruise Along the Mekong

17
July 2020

From historic events and insight into local cultures, to iconic temples and a Buddhist blessing, and an oxcart ride thrown in, what an enriching holiday experience a trip along the Mekong is.

Starting with an overnight stay in Siem Reap before joining our river ship, allowed for just enough time to get accustom to the local surroundings. For people with a little more time, I would always suggest an extended stay to further your exploration of the surrounding area.

Sailing along the Mekong allowed for some magnificent sunsets and eye-opening views. The education received along the way offered a real insight into local cultures and their history. Each day we headed out on a variety of tours, and the tour guides offer first hand views on their countries evolution.

From visits to a local school, to workshops making silk and sweets, the contrasts of life along the Mekong became more apparent as we closed in on the coast and Ho Chi Minh City, yet it still maintained a true essence of local culture.

A fascinating and wonderful holiday experience unlike any other I have been on.
